We’re days away from Oasis’ unimaginable reunion tour kickoff – and we’re at least getting some new reissue out of the whole thing.

The British rock icons will offer a slightly expanded edition of 1995’s (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, pairing a 2014 remaster of the album (which initially came with additional bonus material) with a bonus EP of new unplugged mixes of four of the album’s tracks (plus a non-album B-side, “Acquiesce.” The group’s songwriter/guitarist Noel Gallagher and Callum Marinho built these new versions from the original multitrack recordings in Noel’s London studio. The packaging will feature new liner notes as well as new artwork from original designer Brian Cannon, utilizing new photographs of some of the places seen in the original booklet. The set will be available on two CDs or three LPs on October 3.

After the much-hyped blockbuster Definitely Maybe (1994) established the Manchester band (led by the volatile brothers Noel and vocalist Liam Gallagher) as England’s hottest new rock outfit, Oasis sought to go even bigger with Morning Glory, swinging for the fences with their songcraft and anthemic choruses. The gambit paid off: lead single “Some Might Say” topped the British charts, followed by “Roll with It” at No. 2 (infamously duking it out with Blur’s “Country House” in a moment now cheekily remembered as “the Battle of Britpop”), the immortal “Wonderwall” also at No. 2 (along with a No. 8 showing in America, their only Top 10 hit there) and “Don’t Look Back in Anger” becoming their second chart-topper. Fans lucky enough to catch the reunited Gallaghers performing this year for the first time since their acrimonious 2009 breakup are sure to hear some of these songs filling stadiums the way they were meant to. (The trek, which kicks off July 4 in Wales and will reach venues in England, Scotland, Ireland, North and South America, Japan and Australia, will feature Liam and Noel alongside Morning Glory-era rhythm guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, guitarist Gem Archer and bassist Andy Bell – both of whom were part of the group’s last line-up – plus new drummer Joey Waronker, a well-known session player for Beck, R.E.M. and others.)
