Well, today is Cyber Monday, which means one thing at Second Disc HQ: it's time to launch our annual Holiday Gift Guide, featuring (more than) a few of our favorite things for the music enthusiast in your life. Sure, we might not have included raindrops on roses or whiskers on kittens, but we've filled the guide with over 50 essential selections: sprawling box sets and deluxe vinyl editions, as well as noteworthy releases on CD from favorite artists that just might make great stocking stuffers. So just click here or visit the handy red tab, above, to access this year's picks, reflecting the diversity of music released this year in genres including rock, pop, soul, blues, country, jazz, standards, Christmas music, cast recordings, soundtracks, and more! We're particularly proud of our own Second Disc Records releases this year with Cherry Red Records (a comprehensive 12CD survey of Dionne Warwick's Scepter recordings as well as a deep dive into the late Nicolette Larson's Warner Bros. catalogue) and Real Gone Music (a first-ever collection of Judy Collins' 1960s Elektra singles). We've got even more excitement planned for 2026!
You'll notice that the Holiday Gift Guide is in the same easy-to-use format as our Release Calendar, so you can search for a title by a favorite artist, filter by your favorite genre, or even look for a particular title! We've drawn from almost our entire year's worth of coverage, so take a peek...we're sure you'll find something interesting! While we can't include everything (and let's be up front: that includes a tremendous amount of equally worthy releases!), you might just find that perfect present for a loved one or even for yourself, whether a massive box set or a single compact disc.
Remember to keep watching this space for our ongoing series of full-length Holiday Gift Guide Reviews! This season, we've already taken a look at recent releases from The Beatles, Split Enz, The Monkees, John Williams, and Prince and The Revolution. We've got more on the way, too. Most importantly, please stay safe and hold your loved ones close during this holiday season. We wish for you and yours the happiest and merriest December yet!

Thank you for including Art in America, and Dwight Twilley & Bill Pitcock IV's 'Old Time Rock & Roll' in TSD's 2025 Holiday Gift Guide
The All Right: The Worldwide Singles 1980-1988 collection by Christopher Cross is also available as digital download (in 16B-44.1kHz). This isn't mentioned in the guide.
Thanks, Stefano. We typically don't spotlight digital releases in the Gift Guide; while anything's possible, I'd be disappointed to receive a download code in my Christmas stocking! 😉
