Tina Turner’s long-running series of expanded editions continues on June 26 from Parlophone with a new 30th anniversary 4CD/1Blu-ray edition of the late superstar’s 1996 album – and ninth solo studio release, overall – Wildest Dreams.

The stylistically varied LP was helmed by a number of producers including Trevor Horn, Terry Britten, Nellee Hooper, and Pet Shop Boys and Chris Porter.  Adorned with a warm cover photo of a beaming Turner, Wildest Dreams included collaborations with Sting and Antonio Banderas; the title track “Wildest Dreams” would later be re-recorded as a duet with Barry White for the North American version of the album.  (Wildest Dreams is presented here in its original U.K. track listing and sequence.)  Turner’s 1995 James Bond theme GoldenEye was reprised, taking its place alongside compositions written or co-written by Pet Shop Boys (“Confidential”), Sheryl Crow (“All Kinds of People”), Tony Joe White (the Sting duet “On Silent Wings”), Brenda Russell (“Dancing in My Dreams”), and Arthur Baker and Taylor Dayne (“Whatever You Want”).  The original U.K. album reached No. 4 on the U.K. Albums Chart; it reached the top ten in various countries around the world including Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Finland, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, and elsewhere.

The upcoming deluxe edition adds a bonus disc of ten singles and remixes including the radio edit of the Barry White version of “In Your Wildest Dreams,” two versions each of “GoldenEye” and “Whatever You Want,” and non-LP sides such as “Do Something” and “The Difference Between Us.”  The Japanese bonus track “Love Is a Beautiful Thing” makes an appearance, as does “Something Special” from the All the Best compilation.  As with past entries in this series, the bonus disc is not a complete representation of the album’s associated tracks; it lacks the unique U.S. mixes and soundtrack version of “GoldenEye” (which was present on the original U.S. album) as well as the live tracks from Amsterdam which were featured on a 1997 double-disc tour edition.  (More on those later.)  The original album has been newly remastered for this box.

The package then continues with Turner’s July 20, 1996 concert at London’s famed Wembley Stadium on 2 CDs, boasting such classics as “River Deep – Mountain High,” “Proud Mary,” “Nutbush City Limits,” “Private Dancer,” and “What’s Love Got to Do with It” alongside album cuts such as “GoldenEye,” “In Your Wildest Dreams,” “Do What You Do,” “Whatever You Want,” and “Missing You.”

The Blu-ray (with remastered audio in 96/24 stereo and video upscaled from standard definition to 1080p) contains director David Mallet’s Grammy-nominated Live in Amsterdam/Wildest Dreams concert film from which those European audio bonus tracks were originally derived; it was recorded in September 1996 at the Amsterdam Arena with a nearly identical setlist to the Wembley concert from the same tour a couple of months earlier.  A making-of documentary from 1998 is a bonus feature on the Blu-ray.

The box set’s booklet offers new liner notes from Jason Draper, incorporating interviews with “In Your Wildest Dreams” co-writer Holly Knight, manager Roger Davies, and producer Trevor Horn.
