Twisted Sister's 'You Can't Stop Rock 'N' Roll' Goes Under The Blade As Deluxe Edition

You Can't Stop Rock 'N' Roll: Twisted Sister proved the adage with their second studio album, originally released in May 1983 as their debut on the Atlantic label.  On September 14, the gold-certified hair metal classic will return in a new 2-CD, digital, or streaming expanded edition.

Dee Snider, Jay Jay French, Eddie "Fingers" Ojeda, Mark "The Animal" Mendoza, and A.J. Pero, along with producer Stuart Epps, reached a turning point with You Can't Stop Rock 'N' Roll.  The album catapulted the New Jersey/New York-bred band out of the club scene and into superstardom.  Though it only reached No. 164 on the Billboard 200, the LP reached the impressive peak of No. 14 in the United Kingdom, and spawned three hits on the U.K. Singles Chart: "I Am (I'm Me)," "The Kids Are Back," and the title track.  Twisted Sister was officially on the cusp, and the band's very next album would bring their greatest successes with "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock."

The newly remastered original album is joined by three bonus tracks from a 1983 EP ("One Man Woman," "Four Barrel Heart of Love," and "Feel the Power") as well as an entire concert from London's Marquee Club, recorded in March 1983.  Live at the Marquee was previously released in 2011 as a limited edition on the Rhino Handmade imprint, and features most of the songs from the band's debut Under the Blade plus Twisted-style covers of The Shangri-Las, Shirley and Lee (via Slade!), and The Rolling Stones.

Meanwhile, Live at the Marquee Club 1983 will be released tomorrow, August 10, on standalone colored vinyl at finer independent record retailers everywhere.  You can look for the expanded You Can't Stop Rock 'N' Roll on September 14 from Rhino/Atlantic at the links below!
