The fourth installment of David Bowie’s six-concert Brilliant Live Adventures build-it-yourself box set is now available for pre-order.  On February 12, Look at the Moon! (Live Phoenix Festival ’97) will arrive from Parlophone Records in 2-CD and 3-LP versions.  Both formats are one-run-only releases.

Look at the Moon! was recorded on July 20, 1997 at the Phoenix Festival at Long Marston Airfield near Shakespeare birthplace Stratford-upon-Avon, England.  Bowie was backed by Zachary Alford on drums; Gail Ann Dorsey on bass, vocals, and keyboards (and lead vocals on the cover of Laurie Anderson’s “O Superman” which made a rare appearance in this set); musical director Reeves Gabrels on guitars, synthesizers, and vocals; and Mike Garson on piano, keyboards, and synthesizers.

In addition to the cover of “O Superman,” the band played full-throttle on a diverse set also including ’70s (“Quicksand,” “The Man Who Sold the World,” “The Jean Genie,” “Fame”) and ’80s (“Under Pressure,” “Fashion,” “Scary Monsters”) favorite as well as a generous helping of material from Bowie’s most recent studio album, Earthling (“I’m Afraid of Americans,” “Battle for Britain (The Letter),” “Seven Years in Tibet,” “Looking for Satellites,” “Little Wonder,” “Dead Man Walking”).  The February 1997 release also featured Alford, Dorsey, Gabrels, and Garson.

Look at the Moon! is available for pre-order now on both CD and vinyl from DavidBowie.com and Rhino.com at the links below.  (Currently, the retail price is less expensive via Rhino.)  Replica tour t-shirts from the performance are also being sold.  While the first run of limited edition boxes to house all six Brilliant Live Adventures volumes sold out, a new pressing is promised to be released soon.
