Those of you who missed out on Bob Dylan's Shadow Kingdom: you're in luck.  The troubadour's pandemic-era concert event, which was first livestreamed in stark black-and-white in July 2021, is now coming to CD, 2LP, and digital formats for its audio-only premiere.  Shadow Kingdom will arrive from Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings on June 2, and the film will be available for digital download and rental beginning the following Tuesday, June 6.

Shadow Kingdom found Dylan dipping into the recesses of his catalogue for atmospheric reimaginings of '60s classics including "Queen Jane Approximately," "Most Likely You Go Your Way (And I'll Go Mine)," "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues," "To Be Alone with You," "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight," and "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" as well as lesser-known tunes from the decade including "Pledging My Time" and "The Wicked Messenger."  He tackled '70s gems "When I Paint My Masterpiece" (a highlight of recent Dylan live performances), "Watching the River Flow," and "Forever Young," and also excavated 1989's "What Was It You Wanted" from Oh Mercy to round out the striking, typically eclectic setlist.  The final track on the album is the instrumental "Sierra's Theme."

Dylan was joined for the pre-taped performance by musicians Alex Burke, Janie Cowen, Joshua Crumbly, Shahzad Ismaily, and Buck Meek.  Their take on "Watching the River Flow" is streaming now.  Shadow Kingdom arrives from Columbia/Legacy in all formats on June 2.  You'll find pre-order links and the full track listing below.
