With only a few weeks until Christmas, Edsel is prepping a host of multi-album box sets and vinyl reissues up for consideration under your tree. The four below titles span a few icons and notable names of British rock in the '70s and '80s - and two of them even include unheard material from the artists' respective vaults!
First up is Too Nutty to Be Naughty (Studio Recordings 1977-2002), a celebration of the late Ian Dury. The post-punk renaissance man - as at home as the frontman of Stiff stalwarts The Blockheads (they of the U.K. hits "Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick," "Reasons to Be Cheerful, Part 3" and "What a Waste") as he was on the jazz-afflicted 4.000 Weeks Holiday (with a group of mostly upstart players deemed "The Music Students"). The box includes all of Dury's albums for Stiff, Polydor, WEA and others, and also includes six non-LP single tracks sprinkled throughout. The box is available now, with new black vinyl pressings of the Stiff classics New Boots and Panties!!, Do It Yourself and Laughter hitting shops on December 5.
Fans of Nick Heyward - perhaps best-known as the frontman for Haircut One Hundred in the '80s - will have some new things to discover in The Epic & Creation Years, a new 4CD collection offering three of Heyward's albums from the early-to-mid '90s. From Monday to Sunday (1993), Tangled (1995) and The Apple Bed (1997) each come with B-sides and demos, including 14 unreleased tracks. (The Tangled era proves to be among Heyward's most prolific, with bonus material adding a fourth disc to the box.) The 7" box packaging includes a 24-page book of liner notes that feature a new interview with the artist by Daryl Easlea; 1000 copies of the set will add a print signed by Heyward, as well. This set is also available now, along with, like Dury, new vinyl pressings of the original albums: with From Monday to Sunday on orange vinyl, Tangled on blue and The Apple Bed on green. (It's also the first time on the format for the latter two.)
Edsel's next CD box expands on work the label did years ago on behalf of Bill Wyman, the founding bassist for The Rolling Stones. Treasury is a new anthology offering expansions of six of Wyman's solo albums issued between 1974 and 2024. (Only the albums Wyman recorded and released as a solo bandleader are included, meaning no copies of the Green Ice soundtrack or the works he recorded with his band The Rhythm Kings between 1997 and 2004.) In addition to the bonus tracks, including rare early versions, 12" mixes and digital-only extras - an assortment that expands upon Edsel's 2015 release White Lightning (The Solo Box), which covered only the first four albums, Monkey Grip (1974), Stone Alone (1976), Bill Wyman (1982) and Stuff (1992) - Treasury closes with a disc of a dozen unreleased demos from Wyman's archive. Liner notes include personal photos from the artist, lyrics to the demo songs and a new interview conducted by Paul Sexton (biographer of Wyman's former bandmate, the late Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts). The box, available December 12, comes with a print signed by Wyman.
Finally, Edsel's work as the international shepherd of Marc Bolan's groundbreaking glam rock band T. Rex continues with a new collection of the eight studio albums the group issued in the '70s. The Studio Albums 1970-1977, available December 12 on CD or LP, includes classics including Electric Warrior, The Slider, Tanx, Bolan's Zip Gun and Dandy in the Underworld - the latter released six months before Bolan's untimely passing due to injuries sustained in a car crash; he was only 29 years old. The album packaging, including jackets and inner sleeves, will be fully replicated for the vinyl set (with die-cut replicated sleeves for Zip Gun and Dandy); the CD edition will include the albums in a pair of four-pocket sleeves featuring the album fronts, with an accompanying lyric booklet. The CDs will also feature 10 bonus non-album A-sides appended to the discs, including "Ride a White Swan," "Children of the Revolution" and "20th Century Boy." Finally, the LP set will mix black with various colors on each record, as detailed below.

Edsel have been re-releasing Ian Dury and T.Rex for years, always without any indication about the sources, the mastering etc.
That's the kind of info I'd like to read about...
This Nick Heyward set is absolutely fantastic! One of my favorite purchases of 2025.
Great to hear, was considering this. Do you have the 40th anniversary 3 CD set of "North of a Miracle?" Would like to know how it sounds compared to the older 2 CD issue.
