We All Shine On: John and Yoko’s “Power to the People” Includes One to One Concert Films, Documentary

October 9 would have been John Lennon’s 86th birthday. Though Lennon was tragically killed the age of the 40, the music he created in his too-short lifetime continues to endure. Mercury Studios, Universal Music Group, and Sean Ono Lennon marked John’s birthday with the announcement that the 2026 film Power to the People, capturing John and Yoko Ono’s 1972 Madison Square Garden “One to One” shows, will be coming to Blu-ray on April 9, 2027 in a variety of formats. The releases share a title and design elements with the 2025 audio box set of the same name which included the One to One shows and more.
The One to One concerts, featuring The Plastic Ono Band, Elephant’s Memory, and special guests (including Melanie, Stevie Wonder, and Sha Na Na), raised over $1.5 million (or $11.5 million in current dollars) to support children with developmental and intellectual disabilities. These were Lennon’s only full-length concerts following The Beatles’ split. The concerts were remixed for audio release last by Paul Hicks and Sean Gannon from the original multitrack tapes as transferred by Rob Stevens. Director Steve Gebhardt filmed the shows in 1972, and his footage was utilized for the Power to the People film by director Simon Hilton, editor Ben Wainwright-Pearce, and producers Peter Worsley and Sean Ono Lennon. Sean produced the audio (available in 192/24 Stereo, 5.1 surround, and Dolby Atmos) utilizing Hicks and Gannon’s new mixes.
The Power to the People 4-Blu-ray box set includes three concert films: afternoon concert, evening concert, and hybrid (multiscreen) with footage from both shows. These versions are joined on the fourth disc by One to One: John & Yoko, a documentary by Kevin MacDonald and Sam Rice-Edwards which explores the couple’s first year in New York City, leading up to the MSG concerts. A 128-page book, two double-sided postcards, and two posters round out the 10” set with a lenticular slipcase.
A standard 2-Blu-ray edition has the hybrid multiscreen film and the documentary, plus a 20-page booklet. A Collector’s Edition version of this release adds the two postcards.
All formats of Power to the People are due on April 9, 2027 from Mercury Studios. You’ll find the track listings and pre-order links below.
