Let There Be No Doubt About It
Another bit of excitement first reported by Slicing Up Eyeballs: in his latest update to fans, Peter Gabriel has revealed some plans to give his extensive back catalogue the deluxe treatment.
The singer, who recently reissued several of his latter-day albums on his own Real World label, mentioned in his latest Full Moon Club update that his catalogue would be revisited, notably his biggest pop smash, 1986’s So. With 25 years since its initial release, Gabriel has had his team searching through tape vaults for demos and alternate mixes, and has begun talks with a visual artist to redesign the original artwork.

At the very, very least, I’d like to see (hear, rather) the full version of “In Your Eyes” without fade-out.
I gave a lot of thought to the tracklist, and I came to the conclusion that the best line-up puts “In Your Eyes” at the end and deletes “This Is the Picture.” Disagreement is welcome.
(Also, I’m a bit alarmed about this whole thing about changing cover art. Gabriel’s cover art has consistently been brilliant. He even started selling prints at his site; I’d get the two of album #3 [one of the cover and one of out-takes], but I don’t have GBP 1200.00 floating around.)
I don’t like the idea of deleting any songs from the original album, but I would definitely like to see that longer “In Your Eyes” included as a bonus track (I’m pretty sure you’re talking about the same remix that I’m thinking of).
I used to hear that version on the radio a lot, and I always found it superior to the album version on So.
Please allow me to correct myself: I didn’t mean to delete “This Is the Picture” entirely, but relocating it to a bonus track (as it was previously).
