Carol Burnett, Carol Burnett Sings: Expanded Edition (Real Gone) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada)

Real Gone celebrates the 50th anniversary of The Carol Burnett Show with the comedy legend's third solo album and first for RCA Victor.  A tie-in to the groundbreaking variety show, Carol Burnett Sings features four songs performed on early episodes: "Georgy Girl," "Enter Laughing," "I Believed It All" and "There's No Business Like Show Business."  Another tune "Nobody," was performed by Burnett during an appearance on the earlier program Carol and Company.  I've written the new liner notes, and two bonus tracks have been added: the John Williams-penned outtake "Make Me Rainbows," and the rare "The Bullfrog Patrol" with Steve Lawrence and Dan Dailey!  Read more here!

The Replacements, For Sale: Live at Maxwell's 1986 (Sire/Rhino)

2CD: Amazon U.S. / Amazon Canada / Amazon U.K.
2LP: Amazon U.S. / Amazon Canada / Amazon U.K.

For Sale: Live At Maxwell's 1986 captures the Minneapolis legends (lead singer Paul Westerberg, guitarist Bob Stinson, bassist Tommy Stinson and drummer Chris Mars) for a raucous set at the famous Hoboken, New Jersey club in the winter of 1986. The band had signed to Sire Records the previous year and released their fourth album Tim; a good deal of that album features on this release, as does "Can't Hardly Wait," a track that would appear on the band's next album, 1987's Pleased to Meet Me.  Additionally, the set includes covers of The Beatles, KISS, Sweet and T. Rex, all Replacements-style! Available in 2-CD and 2-LP formats.  Read more here!

The fourth disc finds Hooker in a live setting; five of the 15 concert tracks are heard here for the first time. The fifth and final disc, "Friends," features collaborations between Hooker and Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt and many more.  Read all about it here!

Charles Bernstein, Cujo: Original Soundtrack Album (Limited Black and Brown "St. Bernard" Vinyl Edition)  (Real Gone) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada)

Stephen King's tale of a killer dog hit the big screen in 1983 with a score by composer Charles Bernstein.  But Bernstein's music was cut up for the film's final edit, and the score never received a commercial release until last year, when Intrada presented the music as recorded by Bernstein for a CD reissue. The tracklisting for Real Gone's edition presents the complete film score as presented by Intrada, dropping the five alternate cues which were also included. The new vinyl reissue is limited to 1,000 copies and comes in "Saint-Bernard" Black & Brown. The LP also features new cover art.

BUY NOW FROM AMAZON.COM

John Zacherle, Zacherle's Monster Gallery (Limited Green and Orange "Pumpkin" Vinyl Edition)  (Real Gone) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada)

The Cool Ghoul returns to vinyl!  In 1960, Zacherle recorded an album for Elektra entitled Spook Along with Zacherley, featuring comedy songs with spoken word segments. Elektra's budget imprint Crestview Records reissued the LP in 1963, giving it a new title and new cover art. This new art was provided by legendary MAD Magazine artist Jack Davis. While the original 1960 version has been released on CD (in 2001, by Collectors' Choice), the 1963 version with Davis' alternate art has never been reissued. Real Gone's new vinyl edition comes in green and orange "Pumpkin" color and is limited to 1,000 copies. This new edition is a tribute to Zacherle and Davis, who both passed away last year.

In the year that Ethel Merman (Gypsy) and Mary Martin (The Sound of Music) went head to head for the Best Actress in a Musical Tony, the other nominees were Carol Burnett (Once Upon a Mattress) and Dolores Gray (Destry Rides Again).

With the new Burnett re-release in mind, I wonder if Real Gone/Second Disc would be interested in reissuing Dolores Gray's Decca recordings. Her one Capitol album and single sides for the label were released by DRG in 2007, but her Decca recordings (including sides where she subbed for Marilyn Monroe on the Decca cast album of "There's No Business Like Show Business", and the chart hit "Shrimp Boats") have never been reissued domestically.

Thanks for the reply! You might also consider a reissue of Dolore's 1963 Live at the Talk of the Town album, "Let Me Entertain You", for UK Philips. A reissue of the mono and stereo versions of the album would be great, along with her lone single for Philips, pairing "Our Day Will Come" with "Mornin' Train", both arranged by Dusty Springfield's arranger, Ivor Raymonde.
