The Weekend Stream: September 6, 2025
Welcome to another edition of The Weekend Stream, The Second Disc’s review of notable catalogue titles (and some new ones, too!) making digital debuts. We’ve got a great concert album making a digital debut as well as live singles from Oasis and Evita star Rachel Zegler! Plus: a whole lotta musicals and a new album from an R&B/jazz legend!
The Hooters, Live (Geffen) (Apple / Amazon)
Here’s another title arriving courtesy of our friends at SuperVisible Multi Media: the 1994 live album from The Hooters recorded over two dates in Germany plus two bonus tracks – both covers of Bob Dylan songs – cut at the band’s home studio in Philadelphia.
Oasis, Wonderwall (Live from Dublin, 16 August ’25) (Big Brother) (Apple / Amazon)
The Gallagher brothers’ current reunion tour is selling out venues worldwide, with dates scheduled through November in Brazil. Here’s their latest live drop, a version of “Wonderwall” from just a couple of weeks ago in Dublin, Ireland.
Rachel Zegler, Rainbow High (The Other Songs) (Apple / Amazon)
The Other Songs has released the second track from the upcoming live EVITA: The Album, capturing the electrifying production that entranced the West End this summer. The cast includes Rachel Zegler (heard on “Rainbow High”), Diego Andres Rodriguez, James Olivas, Aaron Lee Lambert, and Bella Brown. Surprisingly, the “full” album – available now for pre-order on both CD and LP – is just a 10-track highlights set rather than a full recording. Both formats are due in early 2026 and can be pre-ordered now.
Jennifer Lopez, Kiss of the Spider Woman (Lakeshore) (Apple / Amazon)
On October 10, writer-director Bill Condon’s big-screen adaptation of the Terrence McNally/John Kander/Fred Ebb musical Kiss of the Spider Woman opens in US cinemas. Here’s the first taste of its soundtrack album, with star Jennifer Lopez stepping into the late Chita Rivera’s considerable shoes for its spellbinding title song.
Hamildrops: The Complete Collection (Atlantic) (Apple / Amazon)
Hamilton: Eliza’s Story EP (Atlantic) (Apple / Amazon)
Hamilton: Burr’s Story EP (Atlantic) (Apple / Amazon)
Hamilton: Washington’s Story EP (Atlantic) (Apple / Amazon)
Hamilton: Angelica’s Story EP (Atlantic) (Apple / Amazon)
Hamilton: The King George III EP (Atlantic) (Apple / Amazon)
There’s a whole lotta Hamilton this week as Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical celebrates its 10th anniversary. Hamildrops: The Complete Collection (alas, still not set for a physical release) brings together the all-star cover recordings celebrating the score from such luminaries as “Weird Al” Yankovic, The Decemberists, Ben Platt, Sara Bareilles, John Kander, and even President Barack Obama. It’s joined by a series of curated digital-only EPs, each focused on a central character, and drawing on songs from the original cast recording, the Hamildrops, and The Hamilton Mixtape covers album. And if you’re still looking for more, Miranda has selected ten songs from the musical’s cast recording to be released on October 31 on vinyl as Hamilton: 10 Shots.
Narada Michael Walden, Still Yours for the Summer (Tarpan) (Apple / Amazon)
The great musician-songwriter-producer (Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Mariah Carey) returns with a new album. Still Yours for the Summer finds Narada joined by guests including session legend Vernon “Ice” Black and Journey’s Neal Schon.
Art in America, Show Me (Iconoclassic) (Apple / Amazon)
Chris Flynn, Dan Flynn, Jim Kuha, and Shishonee Flynn, a.k.a. Art in America, are back with a new album, Rise – 42 years after their last one! That 1983 self-titled debut yielded the hit song of the same name which garnered airplay both on the radio and the young MTV network. The groundbreaking group’s fusion of hard rock, prog, pop, classical, and beyond sounds as fresh as ever with their new single from Rise, “Show Me.” With its big hook and big production, “Show Me” and previous single “Running By” sure have whetted our appetites for more of Art in America. Rise is due on September 19 from Iconoclassic on CD and limited edtion signed vinyl – and that debut album? It’s also coming from Iconoclassic on the same date with two bonus tracks and a Vic Anesini remaster. Mark your calendars!
Lady Gaga, The Dead Dance (Apple / Amazon) / Mayhem [Expanded Edition] (Apple / Amazon)
Last but not least, we’ve got Lady Gaga with the latest single off Mayhem, “The Dead Dance” – complete with a nifty Tim Burton-directed video! It’s joined on digital services this week by an expanded edition of the album featuring two previously-exclusive bonus tracks, “Can’t Stop the High” and “Kill for Love.”

Thank you for sharing the new Art in America single and the news about the forthcoming physical & digital releases of their remastered debut and new album, Rise.
Anne Murray’s new album started streaming on Friday. Here You Are, an album of outtakes. It’s a real comfort hearing “new” material from Anne. These are all top tracks, easily could have been included on their respective albums.
Thanks, Dana. We’ll have coverage of Anne soon to tie into the U.S. physical release date. 🙂
Looks like the “Tour Edition” of Tom Petty’s Mojo album is now streaming, with the dozen live tracks that were on the second CD!
