Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here 50 (Pink Floyd/Legacy)
2CD/4LP/Blu-ray/7″: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
2CD: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
3LP: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
Blu-ray: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
The 50th anniversary edition of the Pink Floyd classic is available in a variety of formats:
- A 2CD or 3LP set pairs the original album with nine bonus tracks: three from the “Immersion Edition” box set released in 2011 and six previously unreleased outtakes and alternate mixes.
- A deluxe box set includes the two CDs, four “crystal-clear” LPs (adding an extra 12″ with a pair of live tracks from the Immersion box), a replica Japanese 7″ single and a Blu-ray. That Blu-ray includes all the audio from the 2CD or 3LP set (so, minus those extra live tracks), plus an additional live bootleg, multiple alternate mixes of the album, vintage video projections by Storm Thorgerson, as well as a hardcover book of unseen photos from the period and replicas of a tour program and poster.
- The Blu-ray in that box will also be available separately.
- Finally, a digital edition includes all the stereo audio from the Blu-ray: the album, outtakes and live bootleg.

Jimi Jamison, 1998 Live Hits (Iconoclassic/Frontiers) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada)
The late, great Survivor vocalist is celebrated with this live set recorded in 1998 at three shows (Little Rock, Nashville, and Bettendorf). 1998 Live Hits features Survivor classics such as “The Search Is Over” and “Eye of the Tiger” as well as deep cuts (“Oceans”), solo favorites (Baywatch theme “I’m Always Here”), and covers (The Doors’ “Riders on the Storm”), all rendered in Jamison’s powerful style. Jeff Adams (bass, vocals), Hal Butler (keyboards, vocals), Chris Adamson (guitar), Pete Mendillo (drums), and Wes Henley (guitar/producer) support Jamison on this incendiary release. Available on CD and various LP pressings. (Scroll down to see another Survivor-related release this week from Jim Peterik and World Stage!)

The Band, The Best of The Band (Capitol/UMe) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada)
The Band’s 1976 compilation featuring “The Weight,” “Up on Cripple Creek,” “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” and eight others returns to CD and vinyl today in a newly remastered edition.

The Pogues, Rum, Sodomy & The Lash: 40th Anniversary Edition (Pogue Mahone/Rhino)
2CD: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
2LP: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
Following its expansion earlier this year on CD, The Pogues’ second album Rum Sodomy & the Lash comes to the 2LP format. This reissue follows a similar package for 1984’s Red Roses for Me, released last year, and features the original album alongside a baker’s dozen tracks of non-album studio and live material. Extras include two non-album B-sides, six live cuts (including a complete live session recorded for Janice Long’s BBC Radio 1 program) and the 1986 EP Poguetry in Motion, alongside a then-unissued cover of The Lovin’ Spoonful’s “Do You Believe in Magic” from the same session. The double LP is pressed on red marbled vinyl. Get more details here.

T. Rex, The Studio Albums 1970-1977 (Edsel)
8CD: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
8LP: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
Edsel’s work as the international shepherd of Marc Bolan’s groundbreaking glam rock band T. Rex continues with a new collection of the eight studio albums the group issued in the ’70s. The Studio Albums 1970-1977, available on CD or LP, includes classics including Electric Warrior, The Slider, Tanx, Bolan’s Zip Gun and Dandy in the Underworld – the latter released six months before Bolan’s untimely passing due to injuries sustained in a car crash; he was only 29 years old. The album packaging, including jackets and inner sleeves, will be fully replicated for the vinyl set (with die-cut replicated sleeves for Zip Gun and Dandy); the CD edition will include the albums in a pair of four-pocket sleeves featuring the album fronts, with an accompanying lyric booklet. The CDs will also feature 10 bonus non-album A-sides appended to the discs, including “Ride a White Swan,” “Children of the Revolution” and “20th Century Boy.” Finally, the LP set will mix black with various colors on each record, as detailed below. There is no information yet as to the masterings utilized in this collection.

Bill Wyman, Treasury (Edsel) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada Link TBD)
Edsel’s next CD box today expands on work the label did years ago on behalf of Bill Wyman, the founding bassist for The Rolling Stones. Treasury is a new anthology offering expansions of six of Wyman’s solo albums issued between 1974 and 2024. (Only the albums Wyman recorded and released as a solo bandleader are included, meaning no copies of the Green Ice soundtrack or the works he recorded with his band The Rhythm Kings between 1997 and 2004.) In addition to the bonus tracks, including rare early versions, 12″ mixes and digital-only extras – an assortment that expands upon Edsel’s 2015 release White Lightning (The Solo Box), which covered only the first four albums, Monkey Grip (1974), Stone Alone (1976), Bill Wyman (1982) and Stuff (1992) – Treasury closes with a disc of a dozen unreleased demos from Wyman’s archive. Liner notes include personal photos from the artist, lyrics to the demo songs and a new interview conducted by Paul Sexton (biographer of Wyman’s former bandmate, the late Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts). The box comes with a print signed by Wyman. It appears to still be available through Amazon U.K. but Amazon U.S. isn’t accepting orders as of this writing. Lester Young, Lester Leaps In: Live at Birdland 1951-1952 (Liberation Hall) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada)
Liberation Hall presents a disc of previously unreleased recordings from the tenor sax titan with this set recorded over four different appearances on ABC Radio’s Jumpin’ with Symphony Sid program. (Billie Holiday was in the audience for one of the broadcasts, and Young gives her a shout-out!) Supporting musicians include pianists John Lewis, Cyril Haynes, and Earl Knight; percussionists “Papa” Jo Jones and Lee Abrams; bassist Gene Ramey; and trumpeter Jesse Drakes. Jazz historian Scott Yanow provides the new liner notes.

Jim Peterik and World Stage, River of Music: The Power of Duets, Vol. 1 (Frontiers) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada)
Jim Peterik (The Ides of March, Survivor) teams with producer Ron Nevison (Jefferson Starship, Chicago) for an album of original songs featuring duet partners such as Jason Scheff (Chicago), Kevin Cronin (REO Speedwagon), Cathy Richardson (Jefferson Starship), son Colin Peterik, and others. Available on CD and digital formats.
