EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (RCA/Legacy)
CD: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
2LP (black): Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
2LP (translucent orange/yellow): Amazon U.S.
2LP (marbled red): Graceland
Baz Luhrmann, the director of 2022’s blockbuster biopic ELVIS, uncovered scores of film outtakes of The King during production, including footage filmed for the concert/documentary films That’s the Way It Is and Elvis on Tour and audio of Presley describing his life and career. EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert is a new film built from that footage, set to hit IMAX theatres on February 20 before a general release a week later; the accompanying soundtrack will include some of the live performances and some studio remixes created for the picture. Vinyl versions will follow in April, including exclusive color variants at Amazon and the store to Presley’s estate, Graceland. Read more here.

Tori Amos, Strange Little Girls: Expanded Edition (Atlantic/Rhino)
2CD: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
2LP: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
Tori Amos’ sixth album – her final for longtime label Atlantic – was a novel concept: 12 songs originally written and performed by men, changed in focus by her voice, arrangements, and perspective. This remastered and expanded version features four extra tracks – two B-sides and two unreleased tracks – and the vinyl packaging will feature one of 12 covers taken from portraits within the original album art, each offering a “persona” she created for each song. (Bundles featuring each LP jacket plus a collectible poster are available on her official store as well as Rhino’s.) The vinyl is out today, with the CD following on March 27. Read more here.

Art Pepper, Everything Happens to Me: 1959 – Live at The Cellar (Omnivore) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada)
Omnivore premieres a treasure trove of live music from saxophone giant Art Pepper (1925-1982). Everything Happens to Me: 1959 – Live at The Cellar boasts four hours of previously unissued Pepper, captured at Vancouver, Canada’s legendary jazz haunt The Cellar. Michael Graves has restored and mastered the audio, while the package offers new liner notes by Kirk Silsbee with new interviews with Laurie Pepper (Art’s widow and co-producer of this set with Omnivore’s Cheryl Pawelski) and Dave Quarin (The Cellar).

Dwight Twilley, Live on Fire at the Agora 1976 (Iconoclassic) (Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada)
The latest archival CD from Iconoclassic Records of beloved power-popsmith Dwight Twilley is also the earliest chronologically, nestling between the release of the Dwight Twilley Band’s breakthrough debut Sincerely and follow-up Twilley Don’t Mind with a killer set at the world-famous Agora Ballroom in Cleveland on October 18, 1976. Unofficially, partially released more than 15 years ago, it’s now got the Twilley estate seal of approval, mixed from original multi-tracks by longtime band engineer James Barth, remastered by Vic Anesini and featuring one unheard track along with liner notes by Greg Roberson and Ralph Chapman. George Michael, Faith (Columbia/Legacy)
CD: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
2LP: Amazon U.S. / Amazon U.K. / Amazon Canada
George Michael’s landmark 1987 solo debut influenced generations of pop stars with smash hits like “I Want Your Sex,” “Faith,” Father Figure,” “One More Try,” “Monkey” and “Kissing a Fool.” Legacy Recordings is bringing the album back into print on CD and black and red marbled vinyl; while the bonus offerings are much thinner than the 2011 box set edition of the album, there is an out-of-print bonus track ending both physical pressings: the full, three-part 12″ mix of “I Want Your Sex.”
