Yes, Sir-ee! Kritzerland to Release "The Gang's All Here" Score Featuring Benny Goodman
By 1943, Busby Berkeley was a Hollywood veteran who had choreographed the dance sequences that would make him famous for decades. He had also directed several classic films such as the Judy Garland/Mickey Rooney vehicles Babes In Arms and Strike Up The Band. However, he had never directed a full motion picture in color, where his choreographed tableaux could be more vividly realized. That all changed with The Gang's All Here. This famous musical has never had its soundtrack officially

Today, we're spotlighting a pair of funk-drenched new releases from Cherry Red's Robinsongs imprint! Since Takin' Off in 1962 with his Blue Note debut of the same name, Hancock had pushed the envelope of jazz, including a period in the late

Rhino, Omnivore Plan Black Friday Gold For Record Store Day
That chill in the air and the buzz in your favorite record store can only mean one thing: Record Store Day Black Friday is nearly upon us! On November 25, indie record retailers and labels great and small will partner together to issue dozens of exclusive packages you can't get anywhere else (except maybe eBay, after the fact, though we're not happy about that.) The vinyl boom refuses to end, but owing to the lesser size of the event in general, there don't seem to be as many titles as usual.

Review: Rhonda Ross, "In Case You Didn't Know"
In Case You Didn't Know: Rhonda Ross has dropped a new release. The album of that title showcases the singer-songwriter on a set of fourteen potent, original tracks. Ross, a gifted vocalist with an expressive instrument, has written or co-written every song on the album, and though the CD's exclusive retailer CD Baby categorizes the record as "Jazz Fusion" - calling to mind the liquid soundscapes of Return to Forever or Weather Report - that term only tells part of the artist's story. The
