Rhino’s Record Store Day Black Friday schedule is packed with some 35 titles available as limited edition vinyl releases. But CD lovers take heart: six of these titles – most featuring previously unreleased material – will be available the same day on our favorite portable physical format! Here’s a look at each title, alphabetically by artist. Recent years have seen Rhino acquire distribution rights to beloved British ska outfit The Beat (known in America as The English Beat), with expanded editions of the group’s studio albums distributed through the label. Long Distance Winner: After More Than Half a Century, ‘Buckingham Nicks’ Comes Back to Print
In just over 15 years of reporting at The Second Disc, it’s a sentence we never thought we’d write: Buckingham Nicks is getting its first-ever reissue. The 1973 album from Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks – recorded and released two years before their pivotal acceptance into British rock band Fleetwood Mac – will be released on CD, vinyl and digitally on September 19 from Rhino. Unavailable since its original release, this straight reissue of the album marks the first significant professional thaw since Buckingham was dismissed from Fleetwood Mac in 2018. Speculation ran…

After the Glitter Fades: Stevie Nicks, Wilco Classics Added to Rhino’s High Fidelity Vinyl Series
Rhino’s High Fidelity series of audiophile vinyl titles continues today with two (relatively) modern classics. Stevie Nicks’ 1981 solo debut Bella Donna and Wilco’s 1995 debut A.M. are the two albums in question, with both available now exclusively from Rhino.com and select international Warner Music Group online storefronts. Both albums are housed in old-style “tip-on” jackets; they’ve been newly mastered by Kevin Gray and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Optimal. They’re limited and numbered to 5,000 units each. As Mike D. wrote in his review of Nicks’ Complete Studio Albums and Rarities…

Today in “sure, why not”: Rhino will release a box set of Fleetwood Mac’s classic albums as a quintet. 1975 to 1987, available March 28, is exactly what it states: a box set of Fleetwood Mac (1975), Rumours (1977), Tusk (1979), Mirage (1982) and Tango in the Night (1987) – available as a 5CD set or a 6LP crystal-clear vinyl box. (D2C orders from Rhino will add an additional reissue of a promotional 12″ on crystal clear vinyl, offering stereo and mono versions of Rumours-era non-album cut “Silver Springs” and that album’s standout “Go Your Own Way.”) It’s hard to imagine…

Love in Store: Fleetwood Mac Collect ‘Mirage Tour’ Recordings
Though a key member of Fleetwood Mac’s classic line-up has passed on and two others don’t communicate, the group lives on in countless catalogue titles. All of their studio albums from 1975 to 1987 have been given the box set treatment, as has their 1980 live album – and last year, a collection of Rumours-era live recordings was released on its own. Now, the same is being done for their tour in support of 1982’s Mirage. Recorded over two nights at The Forum just outside Los Angeles – the same venue where Rumours Live was…
Go Insane: Lindsey Buckingham’s Early Solo Albums Collected in New Box Set
Lindsey Buckingham’s earliest solo works are getting a box set from Rhino this summer. True to its name, 20th Century Lindsey will feature remastered versions of the three albums the Fleetwood Mac singer/guitarist issued during the 20th century – 1981’s Law and Order, 1984’s Go Insane and 1992’s Out of the Cradle – plus a newly compiled disc of eight rarities. The set showcases Buckingham’s restless creative spirit that fueled a good portion of Fleetwood Mac’s discography, blossoming into wild and sometimes unexpected territory on his own. Law and Order continued the New Wave tyro…

Holiday Gift Guide Review: Stevie Nicks, ‘Complete Studio Albums and Rarities’
I. Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You? When was the moment that Stephanie Lynn Nicks became inevitable? It’s not as though you can just forget a voice like hers. Ever since the start of her on-again, off-again tenure in Fleetwood Mac – when her dulcet tones powered songs like “Rhiannon,” “Landslide,” “Dreams” (the band’s first No. 1 single in America), essential B-side “Silver Springs,” “Gypsy” and others – Nicks’ artistry and talent has been a given. But you can feel it in the air too, right? At some point in the last decade,…

On September 8, Rumours Live will arrive on two discs from Warner Records and…
Stand Back: Rhino Releases Stevie Nicks’ Complete Discography on CD, LP Box
If you’ll forgive the easy reference, there’s no one quite as bewitching as Stevie Nicks. Since she joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975 and helped turn them from British blues-based cult act to blockbuster pop/rock icons, her enrapturing voice and stage presence have influenced generations. In 1981, she began a parallel solo career with hits on her own that helped make her, in 2019, the first woman inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice. It’s that solo material that’s the subject of a brand-new box set from Rhino, featuring all…

On November 17, Dolly’s own Butterfly Records in association with Big Machine will release Rockstar, a whopping 2-CD or 4-LP collection with 30 songs featuring some of the biggest names in the genre including Sting,…

Landslide: Fleetwood Mac Readies Super Deluxe Expansion of ‘Live’
Fleetwood Mac’s Live arrived in December 1980, roughly fourteen months after the adventurous Tusk. While Tusk had peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and yielded two U.S. top ten hits, it fell off the albums chart after nine months. (Rumours, in contrast, spent 31 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 in 1977-1978, a record for a group or duo.) With the public still hungry for new Fleetwood Mac material, the band issued the sprawling double album Live. It was the first live album from the line-up of Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks,…
