Between 1961 and 1970, households across America delighted in an annual series of Christmas releases available exclusively through Goodyear locations. 900,000 copies of the first volume of The Great Songs of Christmas were pressed - and proved so successful that, by December 1, 1961, Goodyear ordered all advertising to stop as the album had already sold out. The following year's order was for 1.5 million albums, and 2 million for 1962. By 1966, the series' astounding order was for 3 million LPs.

Review: Ramones, "It's Alive: 40th Anniversary Edition"
Fast and furious - that was the modus operandi of Johnny, Joey, Dee Dee, and Tommy Ramone when they hit U.K. concert stages in December 1977 in the wake of the November release of their third studio album, Rocket to Russia. The New Year's Eve gig at London's Rainbow Theatre provided the basis of It's Alive, issued in April 1979, with 28 songs comfortably packed onto less than 54 minutes of vinyl. Now, that singular document of the Ramones' electrifying performance has been revisited by Sire and

Each title is an all-analog affair, mastered from the original master tapes by Kevin Gray and pressed onto 180-gram vinyl at RTI, then housed in deluxe gatefold packaging. The first titles - Wayne Shorter's Etcetera and
Winter Walkin': Second Disc Records, Real Gone Music Collect Chet Atkins' "Complete RCA Victor and Columbia Christmas Recordings"
It's for good reason that Chet Atkins remains one of the most revered names not only in country music but in American music itself. A producer, A&R man, songwriter, sometimes-vocalist, and above all, a guitarist who influenced generations that followed him, Atkins defined the sound of the genre with his championing of RCA's lush Nashville Sound. A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Country Music Hall of Fame inductee and a 14-time Grammy winner (including a Lifetime Achievement Award), Atkins

BREAKING! Second Disc, Real Gone Release First-Ever Collection from Motown's Lost Superstar, Blinky
The story of Sondra "Blinky" Williams has long been shrouded in mystery. The soulful singer came to Motown Records in 1967 following stints at Vee-Jay and Atlantic, bringing her passionate and powerful deep soul sound to Hitsville, USA. Despite recording dozens of tracks between 1968 and 1973, only a small handful saw release: a mere four 45s plus an album of duets with Edwin Starr, two live cuts, and a couple of one-off recordings, including a key moment on the best-selling soundtrack of Lady

Only Love Can Conquer Hate: Marvin Gaye's 'What's Going On Live' Gets Standalone Release With New Mix
A classic live performance by Motown legend Marvin Gaye is being released for the first time on its own this fall. What's Going On Live features one of Gaye's only performances in the wake of the immortal 1971 album, recorded at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. in the spring of 1972. At the time, Gaye had not performed live in four years, and, before recording What's Going On, had struggled with depression after the passing of his close friend and duet partner, Tammi Terrell. "I
Mo' Onions: Real Gone Collects '60s Sides of Booker T. and The MG's on "Complete Stax Singles, Vol. 1"
Few instrumental groups have had as profound an impact on the popular music landscape as Booker T. and the MG's, whose Stax sides from the '60s defined the sound of the label. From Booker T. Jones' inimitable Hammond organ sound and Steve Cropper's masterful Telecaster work, to Al Jackson's solid and steady beats and the always-in-the-pocket bass lines of Lewie Steinberg (replaced in 1965 by the talented Donald "Duck" Dunn), the band's influence continues to be felt in every slice of visceral
Turn Around, Look At Me: Real Gone Continues Keely Smith Reissue Series With "You're Breaking My Heart"

In 2016, Real Gone Music began bringing her Reprise titles on CD to the first time ever. Following reissues of The Intimate Keely Smith, Little Girl Blue/Little Girl New, and Sings the John

Review: Davy Jones, "Live in Japan"
Everyone's familiar with the initial wave of Monkeemania that swept America in the 1960s, not to mention the second wave spurred on by MTV's reruns of The Monkees' classic sitcom in the 1980s. But 7a Records - that tireless label dedicated to all things Monkee - has trained a well-deserved spotlight upon a lesser-known chapter of the Monkees phenomenon. The time was 1981 and the place was Japan. The late Davy Jones seized upon the popularity of a Kodak commercial there featuring "Daydream
