Roughly one year following the release of Starbucks’ Opus Collection anthology, Rhino has announced a new compilation celebrating the resplendent voice of Linda Ronstadt.  Just One Look – Classic Linda Ronstadt is due from the label on August 21, featuring 30 newly-remastered tracks on two CDs. The chronologically-assembled collection begins with Michael Nesmith’s timeless “Different Drum” as performed by The Stone Poneys featuring Linda, then jumps forward to the 1973 solo album Don’t Cry Now, overlooking Ronstadt’s three earliest Capitol solo LPs.  From that point on, Just One Look touches on all…

I’m not even sure it’s a good movie; I probably wouldn’t even be writing this had it not been an early childhood favorite. The U.K.-based Music Club Deluxe label continues to raid the Warner Music Group archives with two new collections following similar sets for Dionne Warwick and Chicago.  Linda Ronstadt: The Collection and George Benson: The Collection are both due next Monday, September 5, and these 2-CD sets celebrate the long careers of two music legends.
