Real Gone celebrates the British all-female hard rock band Girlschool with a new vinyl anthology offering 12 single A-sides from the band's City and Bronze tenures including "Take It All Away," "Race With the Devil," "Hit and Run," "C'Mon Let's Go" and "Please Don't Touch" (performed with Motorhead).  The set has been compiled, produced and annotated by Mark Brennan and the gatefold package shows a rare picture sleeve.  The orange vinyl pressing is limited to 700 copies.

Jack Kerouac's sophomore LP teamed the famed beat poet with jazz saxophonists Zoot Sims and Al Cohn, both veterans of Woody Herman's band.  Kerouac's poetry focused on his interest in eastern religion and philosophy as expressed in his novel The Dharma Bums from 1958.  Real Gone's new vinyl edition comes in blue and yellow "Starburst" vinyl and is limited to 1,000 copies.

The musical power of Sonny Rollins' Way Out West may have been eclipsed by its most famous component - that famous William Claxton cover photo, depicting the nattily-attired saxophonist in a ten-gallon hat, with holster, gun belt, and yes, saxophone.  All joking aside, the New York-born Rollins was way out west, having recorded the LP on his first trip to California.  The cover was shot in the Mojave Desert, which could have stood in for the setting of any of the cowboy films he loved as child.
